Four West Cattle Company (FWC) is a purebred red angus seed stock operation located 15 minutes northwest of Drumheller in the heart of the Canadian Badlands. FWC is part of a fourth generation mixed family farm combining 3500 acres of grain land with the cattle operation.

My great grandfather James J. Stanger settled here from Scotland in 1908 homesteading across the river in the Orkney district. With hard work and determination he eventually expanded and moved to the current location near Munson in 1929. Commercial cattle have always been part of the farm, and at one point my grandfather operated a feed lot. When it became my turn we transitioned to a purebred herd starting in 2008. The decision to go with Red Angus was easy because of their maternal traits and what I believe they do for the beef industry. We acquired our first registered females from select female sales and were later given the opportunity to hand pick from some leading herds in the business. This gave us the advantage of strong foundational females. Herd sires were purchased from top genetics and through continual herd development we now have some of our own sires that excite buyers and produce exceptional bulls. With a passion for the industry, we are focused on the needs of the cattleman and committed to incorporating high performance genetics in support of your success.

In 2013 Liana and I married and now have two children, Aubrey (6) and Ben(5). With a shared vision we have continually developed our herd. Four West Cattle Co. is currently home to one hundred females and growing. After ten years of selling bulls through private treaty Four West Cattle Company will host our first annual bull sale this year.
